Rev. Kerry Wong
Pastor Kerry Wong began serving as the Youth Pastor at New Life Gospel Church in 2014 and was ordained as a pastor in 2017; he currently serves as the Pastor of the English Congregation. Pastor Wong holds a Master of Theology degree in Systematic Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. Since Systematic Theology is a field that is hard to understand, he strives to teach the Bible in a manner that is engaging, practical, and relevant —particularly in our current times, which is characterized by an overwhelming flood of information that often stands in conflict with the truth.
Pastor Jonathan Chu
Serves as the Youth Minister and loves investing in the lives of students. He earned his Master of Divinity (M.Div) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has a heart for helping the next generation grow into faithful disciples and followers of Christ. Jonathan and his wife, Valerie, have two boys, Oliver and Knox, who keep life fun and busy. When he is not spending time with students, you’ll likely find Jonathan hanging out with friends or trying out new restaurants around town.
Rev. Sam Baylis
Sam has been serving in the English Congregation at NLGC since 2015 through teaching, preaching, and worship leading. Sam holds a Masters of Theology (ThM) in Old Testament and Media Arts and Worship from Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) and is now pursuing a PhD in Bible Exposition. Sam’s desire is for the church to grow in love for God through a deeper understanding of what Jesus has done, giving us access to the expansive eternity that we look forward to. Sam is also the Director of BiblicalStory.org, an online resource for pastors, teachers, and believers who want to know the scriptures at an ever-deepening level.
Pastor Peter Chung
Pastor Peter was born in Hong Kong and raised in the United States from a young age. He accepted Christ during college. After careers in software and business, he became Pastor of an English-speaking congregation in Hong Kong. Joining NLGC in August 2024, he aims to nurture a Christ-centered, multigenerational English-speaking church community. Pastor Peter holds a Master of Divinity degree from Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois, and a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies degree from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. He and his wife Catherine enjoy time with their sons’ families and grandchildren.
Elder Roger Chan
Roger was born and grew up in Hong Kong. He graduated with a MSEE from The University of Michigan, currently works as a semi-conductor design manager. He is married to Joyce and they have a son and a daughter. He has served as deacon in various ministries at Arlington Chinese Church and NLGC. Roger was ordained as an elder in 2025. He currently serves in the English Ministry, Youth Ministry, and the Cantonese Fellowship.
